Cleveland Bands To Perform For College Radio Benefit

February 4, 2005

Five of Cleveland's top metal bands will be performing a concert on Monday, February 7 to benefit college radio station WJCU. The bands performing are: SOULLESS (Cleveland's undisputed death metal kings!),DESTRUCTOR (power/thrash metal underground legends),ABDULLAH (high-energy death rock),AMPS II ELEVEN (MOTÖRHEAD meets the MC5 — revved-up rust belt rumble) and BLACK TRINITY (unholy Norwegian-style black metal). The concert will take place at Cleveland's newest club, the House of Blues. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to WJCU to help fund a recently approved power increase.

Cleveland is fortunate enough to be home to four powerful college radio stations — WJCU (John Carroll University),WCSB (Cleveland State University),WRUW (Case Western Reserve University) and WBWC (Baldwin Wallace College). The stations all work together to offer a steady weekly dose of heavy metal programming both online and to the Northeast Ohio listening audience. Cleveland's college radio scene is well-known throughout the music industry as being the best in the country.
